Welcome

expanseIt is our great pleasure to welcome you to a truly magical place, the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge. A land where ptarmigan change from summer browns to winter white, silvery salmon turn bright red, moose and caribou calves are up and walking minutes after birth, brown bear cubs born in their den come out to explore a bright new world, cliff-nesting seabirds somehow manage to hang on long enough to raise their chicks, and normal people are transformed into rabid sport anglers!

From rugged coastlines with roaring walrus, across broad, open tundra, down to meandering, crystal clear rivers alive with fish, and up to soaring mountain peaks, the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge is a haven for all things wild, and man is merely a welcomed guest. We encourage you to come and experience the magic of the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge, whether to fish a world class rainbow trout stream, catch a mighty king salmon, or just to enjoy the magnificent wildlife and scenery of this special place.
