Landbirds

Togiak Refuge staff have conducted Breeding Bird Surveys document breeding birds on the refuge.

Seabirds

Togiak Refuge field camps monitor the population and productivity of cliff-nesting seabirds at Cape Peirce and Cape Newenham.

Shorebirds

A field camp was staffed from 1999-2000 to record the late summer occurrence of shorebirds on the southern Nushagak Peninsula.

Raptors

Aerial surveys are performed to document the activity and productivity of bald eagles occurring on the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge.

Public Bird Counts

Togiak Refuge staff coordinate a wide variety of public bird counts in the Dillingham area. These counts include the Christmas Bird Count, Great Backyard Bird Count, North American Migration Count, and World Bird Count.

Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network

Nushagak Bay became the 3rd of four Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network sites in Alaska.
